This rustic bread was a staple in the French countryside during the Middles Ages. It’s made by blending wheat and rye flour, producing a hearty loaf.

My version is a mix of bread flour, whole wheat flour, and rye flour!

(The sourdough starter, which acts as the natural leavening agent in this bread, is just flour and water too!)

We can slice the bread upon request.
